“My art is a joyous honoring of nature. I play, professionally and gleefully, primarily on wood panels, intentionally leaving elements of the ground (knots, grains, etc.) exposed or concealed, as paint dances with brush. I’m primarily working in the styles of realism, surrealism and abstract-expressionism, with affinities towards anatomy, physiology, botany and genealogy. Exploring unique ways to portray the common essence of human emotion and experience, while mastering the nuance of painting and self-expression, is my underlying goal.” Ian Reid
